Psychologists on call for X Factor 2009 @ Unreality TV

Newspapers have reported that X Factor producers have brought in a team of psychologists, to look after this years contestants. After the very public breakdown of Susan Boyle during this year’s Britain’s Got Talent, it would seem that ITV and Talkback Thames wish to avoid another similar situation. An executive producer of the show told The London Evening Standard: “What we have done this year is look at our policies quite carefully and decided that we should have people with us all the way through, particularly with the pressure of audiences at the auditions.” Louis Walsh has recently expressed concerns about some of the contestants ability to cope with the attention that comes with X Factor fame.
